Job summary

First Call Contract Services is recruiting for a Driver Operative role near Thurleigh, on the outskirts of Bedford. You will drive parked cars between A-Z locations and help position sold vehicles into bays.

This position pays £12.91 per hour from Monday to Friday 07:30–16:00, with overtime at £19.36 per hour after 40 hours and paid weekly. A full UK driving licence held for at least two years with no more than 6 points is required; weekends are optional.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Licence held for a minimum of 2 years.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Experience in yard driving or similar preferred.
• Ability to work in all weather in a yard environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive parked cars between A–Z locations.
• Drive sold cars into designated bays.
• Occasionally interact with customers.
• Walk to retrieve cars as required.
• Manage a site with thousands of cars; work in all weather; wear smart casual attire.

The role of of the Yard Driver is based on the outskirts of Bedford, on an aviation park near Thurleigh.

Shifts for Yard Driving Operative:

• Monday to Friday Monday to Friday 07:30 - 16:00
• Weekends are optional
• You must hold a full UK drivers license.
• You must have held your licence for a minimum of 2 years
• You must have no more than 6 points on your license.
• Long term work

Pay:

• £12.91 per hour
• £19.36 per hour after 40 hrs
• Paid weekly

Main Duties of Yard Driving Operative:

• Driving parked cars from A-Z locations
• Driving sold cars into chosen bays
• Customer facing at times
• Walking to retrieve the car required
• The location holds approx.10,000 cars
• Required to work in all weather
• Required to work in smart casual wear
