Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Driver for its Decontamination unit in Aylesford. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, with a flexible shift pattern and 24/7 cover for new routes, with twice-daily collections.

The successful candidate will collect contaminated trolleys, deliver to the decontamination facility, and return cleaned trolleys to clinical departments. A full UK licence, tail lift experience, and willingness to work varied hours are essential.

Qualifications

• A full, clean UK driving licence (Category B) valid for vehicles up to 3.5t.
• Experience driving vans with tail lifts, ideally in healthcare.
• Comfortable driving in urban and rural environments, under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Collect contaminated trolleys from hospitals and clinics and deliver to the CHG decontamination facility.
• Return clean trolleys containing reprocessed scopes and instruments to clinical departments safely and on time.
• Operate company vehicles up to 3.5t with tail lifts in line with road safety regulations.
• Maintain daily delivery schedules, keeping to time-sensitive routes and ensuring good customer service.

Circle Decontamination - Aylesford

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £25,515.37 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Driver to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department.

Overview

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Candidates must be available to provide 24/7 cover for new routes, with collections scheduled twice daily.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Collect contaminated trolleys from hospitals and clinics and deliver them to the CHG decontamination facility.


• Return clean trolleys containing reprocessed scopes and instruments to clinical departments in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.


• Operate company vehicles (up to 3.5t) fitted with tail lifts in accordance with all applicable road safety regulations.


• Maintain daily delivery schedules, keeping to time-sensitive routes while ensuring excellent customer service.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

• A full, clean UK driving licence (Category B), valid for operation of vehicles up to and including 3.5t.


• Proven experience of driving vans with tail lifts, ideally in a commercial or healthcare setting.


• Comfortable driving in urban and rural environments, in all weather conditions, and under time pressure.


• Ability to carry out manual handling and lifting duties safely, with appropriate training.


• A good standard of general education, with the ability to complete delivery logs and read route instructions.


• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends or public holidays if required.


• A commitment to maintaining vehicle hygiene and safety standards.
