BCS Group in the Midlands is seeking a Driver to carry out daily delivery and collection of hire equipment and sale products. You will work with the operations team to follow the daily schedules, keeping paperwork accurate and ensuring assets are checked and secured.

Responsibilities include loading, unloading, reporting defects, maintaining vehicle condition, and assisting warehouse and trade counter activities as required. A proactive, safety-conscious approach is essential.

Formación

• Full UK driving licence held and knowledge of the UK road network.
• Ability to secure loads and check paperwork accurately.
• Awareness of customer service requirements and professionalism.

• Deliver and collect hire equipment and sale products according to daily schedules.
• Load and unload in line with loading/unloading matrix and ensure paperwork is complete.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report defects daily; take part in safety checks.
• Support trade counter and warehouse teams with picking, packing and order assembly as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and communicate progress to Team Leaders.

Driver

The Role

To complete daily delivery and collections of hire equipment and sale products to customers.

Working alongside the operations team to ensure all orders are loaded as instructed by the daily schedules issued.

Maintain a high standard of driving and to ensure the company assets are checked daily and defects are reported as per company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Driving Duties

• Responsible for ensuring vehicles are loaded referencing the daily driver schedule to ensure all hire and sale orders are transferred from the operations goods out bays to the vehicle.
• Complete checks prior to departure of the depot to ensure all goods are present.
• Daily trips must commence at the time requested by the Depot Team Leader to ensure agreed delivery and collection times are adhered to as confirmed with the customer.
• All paperwork must be completed on delivery and collection.
• All equipment unable to collect as instructed must be noted on all paperwork.
• Report all issues with hand held devices immediately.
• Report any non-deliveries/collection or delays to the logistics coordinator immediately.
• Accountable for the standard of the delivery vehicle reference appearance inside and out.

Driver Safety

• Adhere to road traffic rules and speed limits at all times.
• Work to the loading and unloading matrix when loading and unloading the vehicle to ensure loads are safely secure and safely off loaded.
• Responsible for completing daily checks and reporting all defects to management.
• Responsible for completing weekly defect book and returning to management within agreed timescales.
• Ensure vehicles do not exceed safe working load limit.
• Attend driver safety training as and when requested.

Other Duties

• Assist with trade counter customers and customers arriving for collections Stock check cover
• Provide support to warehouse team including picking and packing customer orders, assembling sign orders and printing garments.

Quality

• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by providing suggestions and feedback to Team Leaders and Management.
• Work to agreed timescales updating the Team Leader on progress.
• Maintain good communication with Team Leaders and Management at all times.
• All orders are to be wrapped, banded and packaged as per delivery method.

HSEQ

• Complete tasks in accordance with risk assessments, notify the Team Leader of any potential noncompliance.
• Report accidents and Positive Interventions using the correct methods.
• Ensure the correct PPE is used in the at all times.
• Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards etc
• Identify/Submit positive interventions where needed
• Work in conjunction with HSEQ policies and procedures

Person Specification

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Essential

• Full UK driving licence and good knowledge of UK road network
• Ability and knowledge of securing various load types
• Awareness of customer service requirements

Desirable

• Driver CPC
• HGV license

Specialist safety & lifting repair, calibration and inspection since 1999. Our staff are trained and fully qualified in the maintenance, calibration and inspection of a full range of specialist safety & lifting equipment.
