Job summary

Catchwork is seeking a Market & Events Stock Controller and Delivery Driver to move stock between our warehouse, shop, market stall and events in York. You will drive a company van, manage EPOS transfers and ensure stock accuracy for events.

The role is 20-28 hours per week with early mornings and split shifts; Fridays may be longer for deliveries and event prep. Training with EPOS will be provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and confident city driving.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate counting.
• Comfortable using smartphone/tablet and EPOS processes.
• Physically able to lift and move crates and stock.
• Reliable and professional under time pressure.
• Experience working in markets, events, or retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Collect the company van from the warehouse.
• Load stock and stall kit safely and in the correct order.
• Deliver to the market stall on time to protect our pitch.
• Assist with quick set-up support (stock placement and readiness).
• Return later to pack down and collect stock and equipment.
• Return stock to the warehouse and secure the van each visit.
• Prepare stock for events using pick lists.
• Count stock out and confirm dispatch quantities.
• Identify and report any missing, damaged, or unsellable items.

Hours

20 - 28 hours per week (may be more during peak season) :

Split shifts on market days (early morning 7am start + late afternoon 4.30pm start 2 hour shifts minimum)

Fridays are typically a longer shift for deliveries, stock take, and event prep

Extra hours some weeks for events/warehouse runs/checking in deliveries

Paid from warehouse van pick-up to warehouse van return

Use of company van provided for work tasks only

Pay

• £14-£16 per hour (depending on experience and accuracy)
• 2-hour minimum per visit (useful where shifts are short but essential)

Role Purpose

You will keep stock moving smoothly between our warehouse, shop, market stall, and external events. You will be driving in York city centre in a van and into Shambles Market.

You will protect the business by being punctual, accurate, and consistent.

This role is operational and stock-focused. It does not involve customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect the company van from the warehouse
• Load stock and stall kit safely and in the correct order

Events stock control

• Prepare stock for events using pick lists
• Pack and liase with reps who are going to events
• Count stock out and confirm dispatch quantities
• Collect and count stock back in after events
• Identify and report any missing, damaged, or unsellable items

EPOS inventory and reporting

Check stock in from deliveries

Transfer stock between locations (warehouse/shop/stall/events)

Record adjustments with clear notes

Maintain simple, accurate records that match physical counts

Produce a short report to senior team after each stock movement / event return

Reliability Requirement

Punctuality is essential.

A late arrival in the morning can result in us losing our market pitch and the entire day’s takings.

You must be comfortable working to fixed arrival deadlines.
