Job summary

Solus, owned by Aviva, is seeking an experienced Drive Back Driver to support our accident repair operations and keep workshops moving. You will collect and deliver vehicles, ensuring a smooth customer experience and accurate transaction handling in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires flexibility with driving a 3.5t van, strong organisation, and attention to detail, with an emphasis on safety and quality service for customers and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• Experience of driving within recovery.
• Customer-focused with great customer handling skills.
• Knowledge of the area local to the repair centre.
• Current valid driving license meeting fleet insurance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Collect cars within agreed timescales and provide excellent service on collection and delivery.
• Process cash and card transactions per company procedures.
• Complete damage forms, take photos, and obtain customer signature.
• Highlight defects during loading/unloading and inform the Production Manager.
• Ensure all jobs are referenced and filed on completion.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the pace and pressure of an accident repair environment and takes pride in organisation, accuracy and supporting members of the wider team.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

The future is exciting now the technologies used in vehicle repair are evolving every day, which is really helping us re‑shape the vehicle repair industry. That's why we're excited to grow our teams and looking for people to join us as a Drive Back Driver.

• An HGV Licence is not a requirement in this role, but you will need to be able and willing to drive one of our 3.5t recovery vans, which can be driven on a normal driving license.
• You will have responsibility for collecting cars within the agreed timescales, ensuring that the customer receives the very best possible service on collection and delivery of their car, ensuring all cash and credit card transactions are accounted for and that all transactions are processed following company procedures.
• You will complete forms to indicate any damage on the car and specify accident‑related damage and highlight any old damage, take digital photographs — and gain a signature from the customer.
• You will highlight any defects identified during loading/unloading of vehicles or as identified at the handover of the vehicle to the customer and bring to the attention of the Production Manager.
• You will also ensure all jobs are referenced and filed on completion of job.
