Job summary

Babcock is hiring a Driver at its Ashchurch site near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. You'll support safe movement, inspection and basic maintenance of military vehicles, helping ensure assets are ready to meet customer and operational needs.

Based on-site, 37 hours a week, with eligibility for security clearance. You will work in a collaborative logistics team, perform basic checks, document records, and adapt to changing operational requirements while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Security Check (SC) clearance is required.
• Desirable: Category C+E/H licences, MHE operator cert, MoD vehicle logistics experience, and MT safety regs knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Transport vehicles and assets safely across the site.
• Load and unload vehicles and equipment per requirements.
• Carry out basic vehicle maintenance checks (oil, fluids).
• Support vehicle storage operations and asset condition.
• Report faults and keep accurate records.

Job description

As a Driver, you'll play a vital role in supporting the safe movement, storage, inspection and basic maintenance of military vehicles across the Ashchurch site. Working within a busy logistics operation, you'll help ensure vehicles and assets are maintained, available and ready to meet customer and operational requirements. Responsibilities

• Transport vehicles and assets safely across the site
• Load and unload vehicles and equipment in line with operational requirements
• Carry out basic vehicle maintenance checks, including oil and fluid inspections
• Support vehicle storage operations and maintain the condition of assets
• Report faults and maintain accurate records and documentation.

This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site at Ashchurch, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Skills

• IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to changing operational requirements.

Qualifications for the Driver
