Job summary

GAP Group Limited is hiring a Driver for its Plant & Tool Division across the UK. You will load, deliver and collect hire equipment such as diggers, dumpers, and power tools to construction sites, ensuring paperwork, damage checks, and fuel levels are complete.

You'll demonstrate equipment on site, perform daily vehicle checks, handle on-site safety rules, and maintain a clean, well-organised vehicle while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Driving experience delivering plant or tool equipment.
• Full UK driving licence (Digi Tacho card desirable).
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately.
• A professional, friendly approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures)
• Starting machines on-site when requested and demonstrating equipment use where needed
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety
• Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods
• Tagging damaged machines on return and placing them in the correct depot area
• Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties
• Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation
