Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a dedicated Driver based at Longwater Asphalt Plant in Norfolk. The role focuses on delivering our construction materials across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, with full training provided to ensure safety, efficiency and quality.

You will liaise with the Distribution Team and customers to uphold Breedon’s standards. This permanent, full-time position requires a flexible, hands-on approach and a valid Class C licence with Driver CPC.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work.
• Experience of HGV driving is essential.
• A valid Class C licence and a current Driver CPC are required.
• Knowledge of the local area is advantageous; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and efficiently to deliver products across Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire.
• Liaise with the internal Distribution Team and customers to ensure smooth deliveries.
• Ensure deliveries comply with legal health, safety and environmental standards.
• Work with the Transport Manager to optimise routes and delivery schedules.
• Be flexible with working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Driver to join our team. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for driving and a keen interest in learning more about the construction materials industry. With a focus on delivering our products throughout Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for efficiency, safety, and quality. Full training on our products and processes will be provided, ensuring you're well-prepared to meet our high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving safely and efficiently.
• Liaise and build positive relationships with the internal Distribution Team and internal/external customers.
• Ensure all deliveries comply with legal requirements, prioritising the health, safety, and environmental standards of Breedon.
• Work closely with the area Transport Manager to optimise delivery schedules and routes.
• Contribute to the team by maintaining a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work. You will have an energetic “hands on” approach and the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated, hard-working person with a positive attitude. You will have experience of HGV driving and have a valid class C licence and a current driver CPC. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the local area and you will preferably be experienced in delivering aggregates and concrete, although this is not essential as training will be provided. You will be flexible in your approach to work variable hours, with the availability for occasional nights and weekends.
