Job summary

Durateam-Environmental is seeking a Backfill Driver to support an ongoing lead pipework programme within the water industry. The role involves driving between sites, assisting with backfilling and tarmac reinstatement after excavation, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

You will need a Full UK Driving Licence and experience in backfilling and reinstatement, with a background in water/utilities/highways or civils. SLG qualification is required and EUSR Water Hygiene is desirable.

• Maintain vehicle, equipment and workspace in safe, tidy condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the designated vehicle between sites, assisting with backfilling and reinstatement works once the dig teams have completed their works.
• Carry out backfilling of excavations once the dig teams have completed their work.
• Complete tarmac reinstatement to roads, footpaths and other surfaces.
• Ensure reinstatement works are completed safely and to a good standard.
• Work closely with the dig teams and wider site team.
• Maintain the vehicle, equipment and working area in a safe and tidy condition.
• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and site requirements.

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Previous experience in backfilling and tarmac reinstatement.
• Experience within the water, utilities, highways or civils industry.
• SLG qualification.
• EUSR Water Hygiene – desirable.
• Good understanding of site health and safety.
• Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
