Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is inviting applications for a Driver within the Passenger Services Unit to transport pupils and other travellers to and from educational establishments across the East Riding of Yorkshire and Humber Region. You will play a key role in delivering safe, reliable transport and supporting safeguarding across the service.

The role requires flexibility in early-morning and afternoon shifts, a caring team attitude, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• A caring and responsible team player who treats customers with respect at all times.
• Understand the importance of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
• A Driving assessment will be carried out at interview stage.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers to and from educational establishments across the region.
• Ensure passenger safety and provide assistance as required.
• Work hours align with service needs, typically early mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday.

The passenger Services Unit is seeking to recruit a Driver to transport passengers to and from various educational establishments across the East Riding of Yorkshire and Humber Region.

Passenger Services provides Drivers and Passenger Assistants to transport various types of passengers (children with challenging behaviour, vulnerable adults, children with additional needs, medical patients) from home to schools, day centres and other destinations where required.

Hours of work can vary depending on the needs of the service but are generally between 06:00am and 10:30am and 14:00pm and 18:00pm Monday - Friday.

• Support the local community by delivering essential school transport.
• Receive a nationally accredited on-the-job training (Midas).
