Job summary

GI Group Main Account is assisting a well-established engineering and fabrication business in Nottingham to recruit a Draughtsperson. You will produce accurate fabrication drawings for steel structures and create 3D/2D models using Autodesk Advanced Steel to support manufacturing.

You will generate GA drawings, fabrication details, and material schedules, liaise with engineers and workshop teams, and ensure designs are production-ready while interpreting calculations and applying industry

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Draughtsperson in the fabrication industry (hands-on role).
• Strong Autodesk Advanced Steel experience (essential).
• Experience producing drawings for welded structures and fabrications.
• Good understanding of welding symbols, fabrication techniques and engineering drawings.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

A well-established engineering and fabrication business is looking for a Draughtsperson to produce accurate fabrication and assembly drawings for structural steelwork components. This is a hands-on, workshop-facing role where you'll work closely with engineers, project teams and fabrication/welding teams to ensure designs are production-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed fabrication drawings for steel structures


• Create 3D & 2D models using Autodesk Advanced Steel


• Generate GA drawings, fabrication details, assembly drawings and material schedules


• Liaise with design engineers, project managers and workshop teams to deliver the design intent

Essential Experience & Skills:
