Quantum Scholars are working alongside a well-established Catholic secondary school in Reading, rated "Good" by Ofsted. The school hiring are seeking a Drama Teacher to start with them in September 2025. This will be a full-time, permanent position.

The school specialises in Maths and Performing Arts, and they are looking for a passionate Drama Teacher to join their Performing Arts department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to make a significant impact on the students' development and contribute to the school's ongoing success.

Job Overview:

As a Drama Teacher at their school, you will play a key role in inspiring and motivating students in the Performing Arts. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Drama lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, preparing them for GCSE Drama and encouraging creativity both in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate will be someone who can lead by example, helping students grow in confidence and artistic expression while fostering a passion for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Drama lessons for students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Develop schemes of work that reflect the school's vision and meet the national curriculum standards.

Differentiate lessons to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students are supported to achieve their best.

*

Assess students' progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.

*

Collaborate with the Head of Performing Arts and other faculty members to enhance the Drama curriculum and develop innovative teaching strategies.

*

Participate in curriculum review and development to ensure that the department remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of the students.

*

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to express their ideas creatively.

*

Provide pastoral support to students, helping them to build confidence, self-discipline, and teamwork through Drama.

*

Work closely with the wider school community to support students' academic and personal growth.

*

Work closely with other members of the Performing Arts department to ensure cohesive planning and teaching.

*

Contribute to whole-school events and initiatives, promoting the importance of the Performing Arts in the wider curriculum.

Collaborate with Maths and other departments to explore interdisciplinary teaching opportunities, incorporating Drama as a way to enrich students' learning experiences.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related field.

Experience of teaching Drama at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ideally with a strong knowledge of the GCSE Drama curriculum.
