Job summary

Grass Roots Academic Support is seeking an enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Suffolk. The role covers Drama across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 for both qualified teachers and ECTs, with a strong focus on engaging, motivating students and developing confidence and creativity.

You will contribute to productions, school shows and enrichment, working with colleagues in Music and Dance to grow Performing Arts across the school.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Drama in a secondary school.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Current Enhanced DBS Disclosure or willingness to complete a new DBS application.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Inspire students to develop confidence, creativity and a love of performance.
• Contribute to productions, performances and enrichment activities.

Job description

Grass Roots Academic Support is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Drama Teacher / Secondary Drama Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Drama Teacher or ECT to teach Drama across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, engaging and motivating students while helping them achieve their full potential.

As a Drama Teacher, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• teaching engaging and ambitious Drama lessons across the age and ability range;
• inspire students to develop confidence, creativity and a genuine love of performance;
• contribute enthusiastically to productions, performances and enrichment;
• play a significant role in the school show;
• work alongside colleagues in Music, Dance and the wider Performing Arts Faculty to develop Performing Arts across the school;
• create opportunities for students who already love performing - and for those who haven't yet discovered that they do.
• be supported through shared planning, professional development and career development opportunities relevant to your stage of career.

The successful Drama Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching Drama within a secondary school setting.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
• A proven teaching record and/or high-quality references.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to engage, motivate and inspire students.
• A good understanding of the National Curriculum.
• A current Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or willingness to complete a new DBS application where required.
• The right to work in the UK.
• A commitment to supporting students' academic and personal development.
