Job description

Drainage Engineer (Remedials team or Reactive team)

GBP35,000 (negotiable upon experience) + Overtime, OTE of GBP10,000

Location: Manchester

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Drainage Engineer with some plumbing experience? Attega Group is currently partnering exclusively with our client to recruit a Drainage Engineer to join the team.

The main purpose of this role is to work as a Reactive Drainage/plumbing operative, supporting reactive and some planned works.

In return, our client offers a salary of up to GBP35,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This is a full-time, permanent role with working hours from 7 am to 5 pm. The role may require daily overtime, night work, and stay-aways when requested.

Reporting to the Hiring Manager, your responsibilities will include:

1. Leak tracing and investigation on above-ground water services
2. Repairing leaks on water services in service voids and risers
3. Conducting internal and external investigation works, including above ground and below ground descales using HPWJ and mechanical coring/milling equipment
4. Operating electrical mechanical coring equipment and Picote milling machines for internal drainage clearance works
5. Using HPWJ equipment for drainage maintenance
6. Removing and replacing small bore waste pipes on sinks, basins, urinals, etc.
7. Replacing mixer taps, washdown taps, and spray guns
8. Replacing toilet float lines and stack pipework
9. Removing and installing cast iron soil pipework
10. Supporting drainage operatives with internal drain descales
11. Using CCTV equipment to support leak investigations
12. Taking water samples to identify leak sources

The ideal candidate will have:

1. At least 3 years of experience in drainage
2. Plumbing experience
3. Excellent communication skills
4. A valid driving license
