Job summary

Arcus is recruiting a Drainage Engineer to cover South East London and surrounding areas. The role involves planned and reactive drainage tasks, with first line response to emergencies during normal hours and on-call support to keep customer operations running.

The position offers a salary of £37,815 per year, door-to-door pay, 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a van with personal use from day one, a fuel card, and a discretionary bonus up to 4% based on targets.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• High pressure water jetting qualification desirable.
• Confined space certification desirable.
• Understanding of commercial drainage systems, ideally in a retail environment.
• Understanding CCTV and ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions for drainage equipment.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and follow company policies.
• Sponsor and complete drainage surveys and technical reports.
• Act as Brand Ambassador for Arcus and maintain vehicle condition.
• Support colleagues with training and upskilling apprentices.

Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Drainage Engineer to join our team that covers South East London and the wider areas.

The main purpose of the role will be to carry out planned and reactive drainage tasks safely and to a high standard.

You will be providing a first line response to all emergencies during normal working hours and providing an out of hours service when on call, to keep out customer's trading.

Salary: £37,815 per annum

Door to door pay

25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays

Van (with option for personal use from day 1) and fuel card

Up to 4% discretionary bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets

Duties & responsibilities:

• Effectively diagnose and identify faults and failures with equipment and systems and provide effective solutions and elevate where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements and adhere to best working practices at all times, following processes laid down by the Health and Safety policy.
• Sponsor and complete drainage surveys and technical reports as necessary and to cascade all key data to relevant personnel throughout field operations.
• Be a Brand Ambassador for Arcus, you are what the client sees first; making a good impression, complying with the dress code and maintaining your vehicle in good condition.
• Actively support colleagues building a teamwork approach e.g. - supporting with training and up skilling of apprentices and communicating regularly and assisting when required.

To be sucessful in this role you will need:

• Full UK driving licence (Essential)
• High pressure water jetting qualification (Desirable)
• Confined space certification (Desirable)
• Understanding of commercial drainage systems ideally gained within a retail environment
• Understanding of CCTV and the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment dealing with store teams and members of the public
