Job summary

Opera North seeks an enthusiastic instrumental tutor to join the Young Musicians Studio in Leeds. You will deliver high-quality group tuition, guide ensembles and support children and staff with musical development.

The role requires solid classical training, teaching experience, DBS clearance and a commitment to evenings/weekends when needed, with sessions on Saturday mornings as part of the programme.

Qualifications

• DBS Enhanced Clearance is required.
• Commitment to high-quality group teaching.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tuition in the Young Musicians Studio, integrating musicianship and ensemble playing.
• Direct ensembles at rehearsals, workshops and performances.
• Provide music programme-related support to children, staff and parents.
• Monitor teaching methods and track participant progress.
• Advise on instrument maintenance and purchases as needed.
• Attend planning meetings and contribute to development.
• Perform related duties as directed.
