Job summary

Sainsbury's is hiring a Customer Delivery Driver to bring online orders straight to customers’ doors with care and efficiency. You’ll operate a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, ensuring orders are delivered on time and in great condition.

You’ll also conduct safety checks, navigate routes, and assist in-store tasks when not on deliveries. Applicants should be over 18, hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points, and be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Over 18 years old and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
• Right to Work in the UK
• Pass online driving risk assessment and driving assessment during the interview process

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s at each doorstep by delivering customer orders with energy, warmth and care
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition
• Perform vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and that customers’ orders are secure before departure
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varying traffic, weather and road conditions
• Handle containers up to 15kg and deliver shopping to properties including steps or longer walks from the van
• Communicate effectively with customers and handle queries or delays
• Support store team tasks when not out delivering
