Job summary

Element Materials Technology Ltd. is seeking a Laboratory Manager for the Doors and Windows Testing Lab in Wednesbury.

You will lead the lab team, ensure QA and H&S compliance, and drive annual lab plans to meet budgets, while representing the company at industry meetings and maintaining rigorous records. You will draft Capex proposals and push them through approvals, improve customer satisfaction from feedback, and design tests and rigs to meet standards while maintaining five‑sense 5S lab

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a lab/quality control environment.
• Strong practical and analytical abilities in engineering testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail in all lab activities.

Responsibilities

• Take primary responsibility in the running of the door & window laboratory.
• Ensure all Quality and H&S procedures are followed by all staff.
• Review staff performance regularly and support development.
• Assist in annual lab execution and sales/marketing plans to meet budget.
• Draft Capex proposals and push through approval process.
• Improve NPS by acting on client feedback and industry developments.
• Represent the company at industry meetings and events.
• Maintain accurate records per Element procedures.
• Design test methods and rigs for relevant standards.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic lab via 5S principles.
• Share best practices from the Group across the site.
