Job summary

It takes all types of people to deliver the kind of service that saves and improves lives. At NHS Blood and Transplant, you'll join a team of more than 6,000 people making a genuine difference across the UK. The role involves working various hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, but no night shifts! You will work on a shift basis, typically 2 days per week or 4 days per fortnight. Shifts start at 07:30 and can finish at 21:30, with days lasting 9.375 hours.

Main duties of the job

Are you a people person who loves making others feel comfortable and supported? If you naturally put others at ease, enjoy chatting, and can handle questions confidently, this could be the role for you! Experience in healthcare is not required; retail, hospitality, customer service, or volunteering experience is valuable. If you've worked in a team and are willing to go the extra mile, we want to hear from you. Bring your positive attitude and enthusiasm, and we will provide all necessary training. In this role, you'll learn practical healthcare skills, support donors through the donation process, and ensure they leave satisfied. Your responsibilities include checking donors in, ensuring their comfort, maintaining accurate records, handling blood products safely, and preparing for smooth sessions. Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential):
