Job Title: Domiciliary Care Assistant

Location: Richmond Village - St Joseph’s Way, London Road, CW5 6LZ

Salary range: £12.75 & Excellent Benefits

Contract: Permanent - Part Time - No Travel

Shift Pattern: Days & Nights available

As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you’ll help residents to truly get the most out of life, and in return, we’ll support you to get the most out of your career. We’re currently looking for Assistants at all levels to provide a mix of domiciliary, residential, nursing, and dementia care as required. You can count on a thorough induction when you start, followed by ongoing training and development, including access to apprenticeships and our online portal with various resources and free access to LinkedIn's online learning platform.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

While no two days will be the same, as we adapt to the needs of our residents across the village, your duties may include:

  • Assisting residents with personal care duties such as bathing, dressing, and continence care in their own homes within the Village, championing dignity and independence.
  • Supporting at mealtimes where appropriate; serving meals in apartments or within the care home, assisting with walking, transferring, or using a hoist.
  • Promoting mental and physical activity through hobbies, interests, or activities within the village.
  • Answering emergency calls when the care alert system is activated.
  • Collaborating with the Domiciliary Care Manager and external professionals like GPs, Chiropodists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care given, activities, and health changes.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

Experience in a care or dementia setting or a Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is preferred. Most importantly, you should be passionate about caring for others, respecting choices, and prioritizing safety and welfare. You should be a great listener, positive, confident in communication, and discreet. You will lead by example, support the team, and deliver care with dignity and compassion, aiming to put a smile on residents’ faces every day.
