Job summary

NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group is seeking a Domestic Supervisor for The Royal Liverpool Hospital to lead a cleaning team, ensure delivery of the National Standards of Cleanliness 2025, and coordinate day-to-day operations on a 2-week rota.

You will supervise staff, arrange cover, train colleagues in standard methods and safety, and work under pressure to maintain a safe, hygienic environment for patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of National Standards of Cleanliness 2025.
• COSHH knowledge and Infection Prevention & Control procedures.
• Effective IT, written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supervising a cleaning service and motivating a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the cleaning team and coordinate daily tasks.
• Arrange cover for absences and adjust rotas to meet service needs.
• Ensure staff follow standard operating methods and safety procedures.

Job description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Domestic Supervisor to join the Team at The Royal Liverpool Hospital.

You will have a good knowledge of the National Standards of Cleanliness 2025, COSHH and Infection Prevention & Control procedures, you will need effective IT, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge and experience of supervising a cleaning service and be able to work under pressure with the ability to work as part of a team using your own initiative is essential, with some flexibility in order to meet the demands of the service, with the ability to motivate the team.

Previous Domestic and Supervisory experience is essential for this role.

You will be required to work, maintain and monitor to the National Standards of Cleanliness 2025, by coordinating and supervising the cleaning team, to provide direct Supervision and organisation to a team of domestic staff.

To arrange cover for absences and untoward incidences and facilitate adjustment of work schedules in light of daily requirements to meet the exigencies of the service and maintain acceptable standards of clean.

To ensure all staff in the team are working to trust policies and are properly instructed and trained in the use of standard operating methods, equipment and techniques required to provide a clean and safe environment.
