Job summary

Avon Search is recruiting for a Domestic / Kitchen Assistant at a family-run residential care home in Cawston, near Norwich. The role supports the kitchen team to provide nutritious meals and maintain a clean, welcoming environment for residents.

The position offers 30 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with paid breaks and ongoing training. Candidates with domestic, housekeeping or kitchen experience and a strong hygiene ethic are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a domestic, housekeeping or kitchen role is desirable.
• Reliable, hardworking and organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively as part of a friendly team.
• Good understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Willingness to undertake training where required.
• Caring, respectful and committed to enhancing residents' quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
• Cleaning residents' bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
• Supporting infection prevention and hygiene procedures.
• Assisting with food preparation and meal service.
• Keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean, tidy and organised.
• Following food hygiene, health & safety and COSHH procedures.
• Working closely with colleagues to provide an excellent service for residents.

The Role

As a Domestic / Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while supporting the kitchen team in providing nutritious meals for residents.
