Job summary

Build Recruitment is recruiting for a Domestic Gas Engineer in Cornwall to service and breakdown gas appliances within social housing. The role offers a clear path for progression, competitive salary, and ongoing professional development.

The ideal candidate will hold Gas Safe registration, ACS qualifications, NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent), and City & Guilds Energy Efficiency. Driving licence and DBS willingness are required. A relocation package may be available.

Qualifications

  • Current Gas Safe registration is required.
  • ACS qualifications including CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) required.
  • City & Guilds Energy Efficiency qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns in social housing properties.
  • Completing repairs in line with Gas Safe regulations.
  • Managing parts ordering and job progression to ensure timely completion.
  • Using PDA technology to update jobs, record work, and book parts.
  • Liaising with tenants and clients, providing updates and delivering customer service.
  • Participating in the company call-out rota.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

We are working with a leading provider of heating, maintenance, and renewable energy solutions within the social housing sector, to recruit an experienced Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer across Cornwall.

Duties of the Domestic Gas Engineer:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns in social housing properties.
  • Completing repairs efficiently and in line with Gas Safe regulations.
  • Managing parts ordering and job progression to ensure timely completion.
  • Using PDA technology to update jobs, record work completed, and book parts.

Requirements of the Domestic Gas Engineer role:

  • Previous experience carrying out gas servicing and breakdown work
  • Experience within social housing or housing association contractsFull UK driving licence
  • DBS clearance willingness to get one
