Job Description
Our client, a facilities management company, is looking for a Domestic Gas Engineer to cover long-term gas servicing and repair work in domestic properties across the Highlands and Moray, with a company van provided.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out annual and interim maintenance visits in compliance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.
- Installation or replacement of gas appliances and heat emitters.
- Installation of gas pipework, including testing for tightness and strength as required.
- Replacement of heating controls and components as per manufacturers' instructions.
- Performing combustion performance analysis on gas appliances.
- Fault investigation and diagnosis using manufacturers' technical literature.
- Attending to reported gas escapes and suspected fumes, adhering to Gas Safety Regulations.
- Ensuring compliance with Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedures, including warning labels and notices.
- Completing all legal documentation using the handheld PDA system.
- Pipework alterations and repairs.
- Performing system pressure tests where required.
- Replacing parts to complete repairs and installing new radiators, valves, and pipework as needed.
- Attending daily reactive repairs from the client.
- Maintaining high health and safety standards at all times.
- Participating in the on-call rota.
Additional duties may occasionally be assigned to meet business needs without additional qualifications or experience.
Requirements:
- Domestic ACS qualifications - CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, DAH1, CPA1
- OFTEC and BPEC registration (if required)
- Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations
- Full, clean driving license
- Knowledge of unvented hot water systems
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivated and a team player
- High standards of working practice and leadership
- Flexible and IT literate
