SDG Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Ltd is seeking an experienced Domestic & Commercial Heating Engineer to join a growing team working in Beds, Bucks, Cambs & Herts. The role covers installation, service and repair of heating systems across domestic and commercial premises, with a strong emphasis on fault-finding and customer service.

Applicants should have relevant gas qualifications, Full UK driving licence and a solid health and safety understanding.

Responsibilities

Job description

SDG Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Ltd is looking for an experienced Domestic & Commercial Heating Engineer to join our growing team working in Beds, Bucks, Cambs & Herts.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair domestic and commercial heating systems.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Work on boilers, heating controls, pumps, cylinders, calorifiers and associated equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works.
• Complete installation and commissioning works to the required standards.
• Undertake oil-fired heating work where suitably qualified and experienced.
• Work on a variety of heating systems across domestic, commercial and publicsector premises.
• Complete electronic service sheets, reports and other relevant documentation accurately.
• Identify additional works and report defects or recommendations to the office/client.
• Liaise professionally with customers, clients and other contractors.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant legislation, manufacturer requirements and company procedures.
• Follow company health & safety procedures and complete required RAMS and site documentation.

Essential Requirements

• Commercial boiler experience.
• Relevant domestic/commercial gas qualifications.
• Experience working on domestic and/or commercial heating systems.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good understanding of health & safety requirements.
• Relevant industry qualifications.

Desirable Experience

• Oil-fired heating experience and relevant OFTEC qualifications.
• Experience with heating controls and associated electrical systems.
• Experience with commercial hot water systems, cylinders and calorifiers.
• Experience working within schools, healthcare, commercial premises or other public-sector environments.
