Job summary

Sheffield Hallam University is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join a friendly team delivering domestic services across the university. The role covers university events, departments and help desk requests, requiring practical and operational duties to maintain the internal environment.

You will have the opportunity to influence work schedules, supported by senior staff, with development through ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience of cleaning, preferably working in a similar office or large site environment.
• Experience of working in a professional/ customer focused environment.
• Experience of dealing with customer issues, answering standard queries and signposting/ escalating as appropriate.
• Able to work the entire shift from 6:00am to 9:15am.
• Be able to deliver a high cleaning standards, have a good awareness of general Health and Safety.
• Demonstrates the ability to work inclusively, respectfully, and collaboratively with a diverse range of colleagues, students, and stakeholders.

You will work as part of a great team throughout the University Campuses and provide domestic assistant support to university events, departmental activities and help desk requests.

The role is to be part of a team to assist with the effective delivery of domestic services across the University, undertaking a range of practical and operational duties, to maintain the University internal environment. We are a friendly team and due to the hours of the role may sometimes be the first friendly face a student or staff member sees who may need directions or signposting which makes the role a varied one.

Professional development is available through ongoing training and support. You can make use of the facilities such as free Sheffield Hallam Wellness sessions, discount to onsite gyms, Totem card student discounts at a wide range of shops and public transport in Sheffield and wider.
