Domestic Assistant Rapid Response x2

Based at: Barberry Centre (plus various locations as required)

Post: 37.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm

Main duties of the job

To provide a high-quality domestic service throughout the designated area/service, maintaining a clean and safe environment that ensures a positive service user experience and reflects the values of the organization.

Responsible for providing a mobile Rapid Response service to a high standard of cleanliness to all Birmingham and Solihull inpatient and community units, under the supervision of the domestic supervisor. Including the safe use of mechanical and electrical equipment following appropriate training.

Job responsibilities

GENERAL

  • To be responsible for effective cleaning and hygiene standards across all units.
  • To safely operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment after appropriate training.
  • To provide specialist cleaning (barrier/isolation) as required.
  • To undertake deep cleaning, including steam cleaning of sanitary and kitchen areas.
  • To respond promptly to infection control outbreaks.
  • To maintain and report on cleaning equipment and vehicle condition.
  • To manage stock and supplies responsibly.
  • To undertake relevant training to improve NHS standards.
  • To complete infection control training thoroughly.

INDIVIDUAL

  • Engage in the Trust appraisal process for personal development.
  • Maintain confidentiality as per policies.
  • Conduct oneself professionally.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff under supervision.
  • Read and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to organizational aims.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
  • Be aware of and follow infection control and safeguarding policies at all times.
Person Specification
Training
  • BICS Certificate, NVQ Level 2, Level 2 Food Hygiene, or willingness to train.
Knowledge
  • Experience in domestic/deep cleaning.
  • Experience with mechanical & electrical cleaning equipment.
  • Experience in NHS settings.
Skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
Additional Skills
  • Full Clean Driving Licence.
