Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is seeking a Domestic Assistant for Pentlands Nursing Home in Worthing. The role focuses on keeping the home clean and safe and providing a superior service to residents.

Hours are 25 per week (Mon-Sun shifts, 8–1 or 9–2 as outlined). The package includes a competitive hourly rate, free uniform, DBS, pension and 24-hour employee assistance, plus ongoing training and progression.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in a care home setting.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures.
• Commitment to resident comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Keep the home clean and hygienic at all times to high standards.
• Clean residents' rooms daily after nursing checks, manage flowers/plants as needed.
• Clean communal areas: mop, vacuum, dust, and keep storage tidy.
• Ensure safety by removing clutter and maintaining order.
• Shampoo carpets as required and manage laundry with care and ironing.
• Handle resident laundry with attention to prevent damage.
• Check personal clothing items for tears or missing buttons and flag repairs.

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at Pentlands Nursing Home in Worthing.

Hours: 25 per week

WK 1 - Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sun all 8-1 or 9-2

WK 2 - Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri all 8-1 or 9-2

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior

service to our residents

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home at all times.
• To clean residents' rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area's including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage area's tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident's personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident's personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
