Job summary

YMCA Robin Hood Group is hiring a Domestic Assistant in Nottingham to join our team. You will work 37.5 hours per week, following cleaning schedules to maintain a clean environment for residents across our sites in the City Centre and surrounding areas.

You will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks, with monthly deep cleans, and must be a driver with your own vehicle to travel between homes. A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required, and full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic or commercial cleaning.
• Drives own vehicle to travel between homes.
• Able to work independently as part of a diverse team.
• Willing to learn and follow health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean stairs, corridors, lounge and dining areas, and kitchens as per schedules.
• Clean bathrooms, mirrors, and floors; empty bins.
• Deep clean carpets and fridge/freezer monthly.
• Travel between homes to perform cleaning duties using own vehicle.

Job description

YMCA Robin Hood Group provides supported accommodation for homeless young people and vulnerable adults in our Nottingham City Centre and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our team, working 37.5 hours per week.

Working as part of a wider team, you will work together to follow the cleaning schedules to ensure we meet our SLA's to create a clean and tidy environment for our residents to live.

On a weekly basis you can expect to clean:

• Wipe down, dust and hoover stairs and corridors
• Dust lounge and dining room
• Wipe down and sanitise surfaces, tables, TV's, light switches and door handles
• Clean the kitchen
• Wipe down all surfaces, cupboard doors and sink
• Clean ovens, microwave, kettle and toaster

Clean the bathroom

• Clean shower and/or bath, sink and toilet
• Clean mirrors and shower glass
• Mop the floors
• Hoover throughout the property
• Empty bins

On a monthly basis, you will also:

• Deep Clean Carpets with use of Vac machine.
• Defrost and deep clean fridge/freezer
• Clean internal windows

We will supply all the products and equipment you need and also provide full health and safety/COSHH training to ensure you are working in a safe manner.

It goes without saying, you will take a huge amount of pride in your work and have the highest standards in your work.

You are likely to have worked in a domestic or commercial cleaning role before and be confident and comfortable working in an highly diverse and varied role where genuinely no day is ever the same!

Due to the locations of the various homes we will require you to clean at, we require the right candidate to be a driver and have their own vehicle to travel between homes as a number of the homes are not accessible via bus or tram routes.

We hope you will see this role as a way of supporting our residents and have the patience and understanding to support their journey to independent living beyond their time with us. You will get to know our residents as you visit their home and we hope you would foster a positive, and trusted relationship. We would also want you to know you could report anything that gave you concern about their well-being or safety knowing that we would be able to intervene and support them should they need it.
