Aurem Care is seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to maintain a clean, hygienic and welcoming home environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues. You will join a team focused on safety, infection control, and high standards of cleanliness throughout the care home.

The role requires experience in housekeeping or cleaning, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties as directed by Head Housekeeper.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the home.
• Use and store cleaning equipment safely.
• Follow infection prevention procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Wear PPE appropriately at all times.
• Respect residents' privacy, dignity and needs.
• Restock trolleys and keep storage areas clean and organised.
• Assist wider housekeeping team with additional duties as required.

About the Role

Our Domestic Assistants are essential members of the care home team. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the home, helping to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
• Follow all infection prevention and control procedures.
• Adhere to COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately at all times.
• Respect the privacy, dignity, and individual needs of residents.
• Re-stock cleaning trolleys and maintain clean, organised storage areas.
• Support the wider housekeeping team with additional duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Be reliable, hardworking, and take pride in your work.
• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have good communication and organisational skills.
• Be able to prioritise tasks effectively and work efficiently.
• Demonstrate a caring and respectful approach towards older people.
