Job summary

Garden House Hospice Trading is seeking a reliable Domestic Assistant (Cleaner) to provide high‑quality cleaning across The Depot, maintaining safe and welcoming spaces for staff, volunteers and visitors.

This is a part‑time role based in the UK, requiring 20 hours per week. Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK and be able to perform physical tasks; safeguarding is essential and a DBS check is required for successful applicants.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, warehouse welfare areas, toilets, kitchens and communal spaces
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene throughout The Depot
• Maintain cleaning schedules and complete cleaning records where required
• Undertake periodic deep cleaning
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety and COSHH requirements
• Follow safe working practices at all times, including the correct use of PPE where required
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with company procedures
• Support The Depot team by maintaining an organised and hazard‑free working environment
• Work flexibly to meet operational cleaning priorities.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced cleaner to join our Domestic team!

What does the Domestic Assistant (Cleaner) role involve?

You will be providing a high-quality cleaning and housekeeping service across the Trading Depot, ensuring all working areas, offices and welfare facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.

You will help create a safe and welcoming environment for employees, volunteers and visitors while supporting the efficient operation of The Depot.

Duties include:

• Clean offices, warehouse welfare areas, toilets, kitchens and communal spaces
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene throughout The Depot
• Maintain cleaning schedules and complete cleaning records where required
• Undertake periodic deep cleaning
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety and COSHH requirements

This role involves regular physical activity including standing, bending, stretching, lifting cleaning equipment and moving light furniture where required to undertake cleaning duties safely.
