Job summary

Aurem Care Shared Services Limited is seeking a Domestic Assistant to help keep our care home clean, safe and welcoming for residents. You will perform cleaning duties, follow infection control guidelines, and support the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of hygiene.

The role runs 35 hours per week with shifts from 8:00am to 3:00pm, including weekend rota. Benefits include £12.71 per hour, 28 days leave pro rata, life insurance, free DBS check, on-site parking, pension, comprehensive

• Have previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Be reliable, hardworking, and take pride in your work.
• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have good communication and organisational skills.
• Be able to prioritise tasks effectively and work efficiently.
• Demonstrate a caring and respectful approach towards older people.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
• Follow all infection prevention and control procedures.
• Adhere to COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately at all times.
• Respect the privacy, dignity, and individual needs of residents.
• Re-stock cleaning trolleys and maintain clean, organised storage areas.
• Support the wider housekeeping team with additional duties as required.

About the Role

Our Domestic Assistants are essential members of the care home team. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the home, helping to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues.
