Position:Domestic Assistant
Care home: Hylton Grange
Location: 1 Poole Road, Sunderland, SR4 0HG
Contract type:Part time 16 hours per week, including weekends
Rate:£12.21 per hour

Do you take pride in your cleaning standards and attention to detail? As a Domestic Assistant, you’ll ensure that our home is clean and welcoming for the people who live and work here.

As part of our Domestic Team, you’ll carry out all daily and weekly cleaning routines, including dusting, mopping, polishing and vacuuming.

You’ll clean all areas in the home including people’s bedrooms, lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, kitchens and offices.

About the role

OurDomestic Assistants ensure that our home maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

carrying out all daily and weekly cleaning routines, as well as ad-hoc duties

cleaning and tidying designated areasaround the home includingbedrooms, lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, kitchens and offices

cleaning duties including dusting, mopping, polishing and vacuuming

using equipment such as carpet cleaning machines

supporting with washing and drying laundry, as required

reporting breakages, damage, defects and hazards

buildingtrust and promoting choice, dignity and independence .

You’ll put our people at the heart of everything you do – whether that’s hoovering our residents’ bedrooms or polishing their photo frames. We can guarantee that whatever you bring to the role, you’ll see great rewards.

If you haven’t worked in the care sector before, we’ll help you feel right at home from the start with our induction, buddy, and ongoing training programmes.

Dave moved to Willowbeck following a ski accident, which resulted in a brain stem stroke, leaving him with severe physical difficulties diagnosed as locked-in syndrome. As well as building up his mobility, he's the home's Service User Ambassador.

"I love being a Service User Ambassador! I enjoy feeling like I contribute to the community I live in, and towards the health and wellbeing of others."

The Nurses at Willowbeck have been a huge part of Dave's journey, and message of thanks echo that.

Leanne's a proud member of our Service User Council and has grown in confidence over the years, allowing her to try new things and build her independence

With support from the team at Quarryfields, she also attends DICE Enterprise - a non-profit organisation that runs activities and events for disabled people - twice a week.

It was there her journey led her to finding her perfect match, her fiancé, Jacob.

From hospital appointments to finding love, the Nurses at Quarryfields have been with her every step of the way!

26 staff and residents walked eight miles to Hollingworth Lake and back raising over £1000 for the Huntington's Disease Association

Hylton Grange is a five minute drive from the A19.

On the A19, take the A183 exit towards Chester le Street / Sunderland.

If you're travelling north on the A19, take the third exit on the roundabout onto Chester Road/A183.

If you're travelling south on the A19, take the first exit on the roundaboutonto Chester Road/A183.

At the first roundabout, take the first exit onto Hylton Road and go through another roundabout. Turn left onto St Luke's Road. Then, turn right onto Fordfield Road.

Hylton Grange is on the corner of Poole Road and Fordfield Road, opposite Blackie Park.

There are limited parking spaces in the home’s car park. Street parking is available alongPoole Road and Fordfield Road.

The home’s a short walk from several bus stops.
