Job summary

Haddington Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Domestic Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents in Haddington. You will clean rooms, bathrooms and communal areas and assist with laundry, following infection control and hygiene standards.

The role is 19.5 hours per week at £12.98 per hour, with PVG, pension, uniform provided and 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract).

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach
• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial
• Previous experience welcomed but not essential

Job description

Haddington Care Home is a well established care home in Haddington, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative care for up to 68 residents. With a strong team culture and focus on high standards, the home offers a supportive environment where staff can develop their skills and make a meaningful difference every day.

Domestic Assistant Contract

• £12.98 per hour
• Contracted to 19.5 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Domestic Assistant, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort. This is a hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will have a direct impact on daily life.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. You will also support laundry services, helping to ensure personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with required standards. Your role will contribute to a well organised, respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.
