We have permanent positions for hardworking, motivated individuals to join the Domestic Services Team at The Countess of Chester Hospital. The vacancies are for the following shifts:
These posts are designed to assist with providing a full range of cleaning duties, 7 days a week in a hospital/healthcare environment.
The domestic department maintains very high standards. After completing full training, the successful candidates will be expected to carry out the full range of domestic duties, including cleaning bathrooms, toilets, ward areas, emptying bins, and replenishing soap dispensers, hand towels, and sanitisers.
Responsibilities include the safe removal of domestic and clinical waste following specified procedures, ensuring correct colour liners are replaced. Candidates will need to identify areas to be cleaned, plan and organise cleaning schedules with the Domestic Supervisor, ensuring patient, staff, and visitor safety is maintained.
The role involves cleaning ward/healthcare environments according to National Standards of Cleaning and specified frequencies, as well as sanitising all sanitary areas and ward equipment such as baths, toilets, washbasins, showers, and sluice sinks. Regular checks of sanitary areas throughout the day are required.
Additional duties include cleaning kitchen areas, sinks, worktops, cupboards, drawers, cookers, refrigerators, and ice machines.
