Job summary

Niyaa People is recruiting on behalf of a large housing charity expanding its services in Manchester. The Domestic Abuse Support Team Leader will oversee a small team, ensuring safe and high-quality support for adults and children affected by domestic abuse and safeguarding concerns.

You will develop the new service, supervise staff, and work with the Supported Housing Manager to deliver person-centred, outcome-focused support and effective case management.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience of domestic abuse, safeguarding and risk management.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or leading staff.
• Confident completing and overseeing referrals, risk assessments and support plans.
• Understanding of housing-related welfare matters and tenancy sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small team of Domestic Abuse Support Workers with day-to-day guidance and supervision.
• Collaborate with the Supported Housing Manager to run and develop the service.
• Provide practical and emotional support to adults and children with complex needs affected by domestic abuse.
• Oversee referrals, risk assessments and support planning to ensure timely interventions.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, recorded, escalated and managed appropriately.
• Support staff in handling complex cases and high-risk safeguarding concerns.
• Work with Children’s Services, local authorities and partner agencies.
• Monitor case notes, risk assessments and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Support move-ins, inductions and ongoing resident assessments.
• Promote tenancy sustainment, personal safety and resident independence.
