Job summary

Women’s Aid is recruiting a Domestic Abuse Specialist based in Wakefield to work within the West Yorkshire Contact and Control Centres, reviewing calls, assessing risk and advising frontline staff. This is a desk-based role in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

The position is based in Wakefield with an average 35 hours per week, on a 8-week rotation pattern. Salary is £33,000 FTE per annum for an 18-month fixed-term contract, with potential hybrid

Qualifications

• Recognised domestic abuse qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience of MARAC and supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse.
• Understanding of safeguarding practices and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Desk-based role reviewing domestic abuse calls and risk assessments.
• Provide timely, professional advice to support informed decisions by call handlers, officers and control room staff.
• Identify safeguarding measures at the earliest opportunity and support frontline staff.
• Work collaboratively with West Yorkshire Police within the CCC framework.
