Job summary

Black Country Women’s Aid is seeking a Domestic Abuse Practitioner to support victims of domestic abuse referred from Childrens services, focusing on those on child in need and child protection plans. The role is based in Dudley with a 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, and offers a salary range dependent on qualification.

The successful candidate will have experience handling caseloads, safeguarding knowledge, and an understanding of domestic abuse dynamics to support vulnerable

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Ability to manage caseloads and coordinate with Children's services.
  • Understanding of safeguarding children and adults and domestic abuse dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support to victims of domestic abuse referred from Children's services on CIN/CP plans.
  • Adhere to safer recruitment practices and DBS requirements as part of employment checks.
  • Ensure right to work in the UK documentation is obtained and stored appropriately.
  • Obtain and manage employment references as part of the selection process.

Job Title: Domestic Abuse Practitioner

Position available: 1 full-time position (37.5 hours- Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm), based in Dudley

Salary: £25,282.44 (unqualified) – £30,304.64 (qualified)

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse, managing a caseload and understanding the principles of safeguarding children and adults. The post holder will have a good understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and how this can affect victims.

The Role

The Domestic Abuse Practitioner will work within the family safeguarding team focusing on providing support to victims of domestic abuse who have been referred from Childrens services specifically those on child in need and child protection plans.
