Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to assist individuals and families across Monmouthshire with housing-related support and safety planning. The role covers a range of needs and risk levels, including ongoing support beyond crisis.

You will work with housing providers, authorities, police and services to safeguard clients and promote independent living. The post offers a 35-hour week with potential flexibility for remote working.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
• Experience developing support and safety plans with service users.
• Experience partnering with statutory and voluntary agencies.
• Experience working with police or wider criminal justice system.
• Experience in community-based support or outreach.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and housing difficulties.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop personalised support plans.
• Complete risk assessments and safety plans.
• Support service users to maintain tenancies and prevent homelessness.
• Assist with accessing accommodation, housing advice and welfare benefits.
• Collaborate with housing providers, authorities, police and other agencies.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and respond to changing risk levels.
• Maintain accurate case notes and records, using electronic systems.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision and training.
