Job description

Salary: £67,623 with potential to rise to £79,567 over 3 years

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Domain Architect to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Domain Architect who will define and lead the architecture at a Domain level. They will work as part of a team responsible for different domains: digital front end, back office, data, and corporate collaboration. They will work closely with the Enterprise Architect to help form a joined-up view on the overarching enterprise architecture roadmap. This role will focus on Oracle Fusion and will work closely with the Finance & Trading team including the Chief Financial Officer.

You will also play a key role as a member of the Domain Leadership Team supporting the Enterprise Architecture practice in setting the wider technology strategy and roadmap for the business and leading the transition to the new model for your area of responsibility.

Every day you will …

  • Implement required security measures, such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems.
  • Implement and contribute to the design of disaster recovery and contingency plans to protect company data.
  • Identify new external developments and/or emerging issues within an area of technology or business function and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organisation.
  • Perform complex statistical analysis and utilise mining, modelling, and testing techniques to enable data analysis.
  • Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/application software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience working with the Oracle Financial platform, particularly Oracle Fusion.
  • Proven track record of driving and leading large scale architectural projects throughout an entire business through to completion.
  • The ability to build and maintain a relationship with Executive Directors and the Senior Leadership team to maintain a wide view of all change initiatives, investigate solutions, apply business acumen, and develop quality deliverables to support investment decisions.
  • Previous experience of driving business engagement to understand, challenge, and document strategic business needs, translating these into project scope, objectives, and outcomes.
  • A proven expert in owning architecture relationships and interfaces with software vendors and Finance delivery partners.
  • Exceptional strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
  • A good understanding of the relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
