Dogs Trust Cardiff is seeking a Dog Welfare Assistant (30 hours per week) to join our Rehoming team. The role involves daily dog care, educating prospective owners on responsible ownership, and delivering excellent customer service to visitors.

The position operates on a rotational schedule, including every other weekend, with shifts 8:00am–4:30pm or 10:30am–7:00pm. Please note the role is permanent and part-time, based in Cardiff, offering a pro-rata salary with benefits.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to show empathy to people and animals
• Experience working with or handling dogs; basic behaviour and health knowledge
• Full, manual driving licence is essential
• Willingness to work a rota including weekends

Responsabilités

• Provide daily care to dogs at the rehoming centre in line with Dogs Trust guidelines and safety rules
• Educate potential new owners and the public on dog care and welfare
• Deliver excellent customer service to visitors to the centre
