Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Document Controller for the Sizewell C project to administer the approved document-management system, handle registers, workflows and controlled distribution, and ensure access to current revisions on demand.

You will maintain document numbering, metadata, and retention, coordinate reviews and audits, and support project handovers with complete records across a regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written communication, accuracy and record-keeping.
  • Strong IT skills, including an electronic document-management system.
  • CITB HS&E Operatives before the start date.
  • Ability to satisfy Sizewell C security, vetting and site access requirements.
  • Relevant document-control, information-management or quality experience, or equivalent transferable capability.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor document-control performance and report gaps, overdue reviews and recurring quality issues.
  • Provide guidance and practical support to employees and partners using document-control processes.
  • Work with the team to improve workflows, data quality, access and information governance.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications
Essential
  • Excellent written communication, accuracy and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and an electronic document-management system.
  • CITB HS&E Operatives before the start date
  • Ability to satisfy all Sizewell C security, vetting and site access requirements.
  • Relevant document-control, information-management or quality experience, or equivalent transferable capability.
Desirable
  • A recognised document-control, information-management or quality qualification.
  • Previous experience in construction, infrastructure, logistics or another regulated environment.
  • A working knowledge of:
    • Electronic document-management systems and approval workflows
    • ISO9001 records, document and configuration-control principles
    • Material traceability, handover and assurance evidence
    • NEC correspondence and major-project governance
Experience
  • Previous document-control or information-management experience in a regulated or project environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records under competing priorities.
  • Experience managing document registers, revision control, transmittals, workflows and retention.
  • Confident use of electronic document-management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret document status, approval requirements and information-governance rules.
  • Strong organisational and time-management capability with disciplined follow-through.
  • Ability to communicate requirements clearly and support users with different levels of experience.
  • Experience supporting audits, handover packs or quality-assurance evidence is desirable.
  • Understanding of material traceability, configuration control or construction records is advantageous.
  • Discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive, controlled or security-classified information.
