Document Controller

Location: York

Overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Administrator or Document Controller to join a reputable construction contractor in their new York office. The role involves managing project documentation and drawings using the company's Project Information Management System (PIM), ensuring accuracy and compliance across all project documentation.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Document Control team in managing project-related documentation and drawings, ensuring correct uploads, revisions, and distribution.
  2. Coordinate site-based and office documentation to maintain consistent revision control.
  3. Support the preparation of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, liaising with project teams and suppliers for timely delivery.
  4. Monitor compliance with Quality, Environmental, Management, and Safety (QEMS) procedures.
  5. Manage subcontractor approval records, ensuring current and proper documentation.
  6. Oversee digital filing and scanning of site paperwork into the PIM system.
  7. Maintain standard document and report templates.
  8. Support tracking of company vehicles and alignment with operational schedules.
  9. Participate in the implementation and training for the Document Management System.
  10. Promote and support QEMS practices to uphold health, safety, and quality standards.
  11. Archive project files according to procedures and industry best practices.
  12. Provide reception and front-office support as needed.
  13. Deliver general administrative support to project teams and departments.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint for Projects, FieldView, and PIM systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across site and office teams.
  • Understanding of construction industry processes and documentation standards.
