About the role

Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering is looking for a skilled and proactive Document Controller to support our work on the Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear new build project - a major infrastructure programme that will help secure the UK's clean energy future.

As part of the BBGE team, you'll play a key role in managing and controlling documentation across a complex, high-profile construction environment. You'll support the project team, supply chain, and external stakeholders to ensure the accurate handling, tracking, and sharing of information-helping us deliver excellence from the ground up.

  • Manage all document workflows for the project, including registration, version control, and archiving.
  • Maintain and improve document control systems and platforms used by the project team and subcontractors.
  • Support implementation of SZC's digital strategy and ensure alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 19650 standards.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to teams and partners on document control processes and tools.
  • Carry out quality checks on incoming and outgoing documentation to ensure consistency and traceability.
  • Assist in preparing and managing handover packages, including Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs), Health & Safety Files, and O&M Manuals.
  • Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, acting as a central point of contact for document control matters.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in document control within construction, engineering, or major projects.
  • Strong knowledge of EDMS platforms and information management systems.
  • Confident communicator who works well in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to document handling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with a good understanding of digital tools.
  • Basic understanding of BIM standards and processes.

Desirable:

  • Experience using digital progressive assurance systems and electronic forms.
  • Qualification in construction, project management, or a related discipline.
