About the Role

Divisional Finance Director - Maritime Transport
Full-Time, Permanent

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to oversee the global financial operations of our Maritime Transport product lines. You will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, budget delivery, and forecasting, driving efficiency and value across the product lines. Partnering with the CFO, you will support the development of division-wide and group-wide systems and processes.

As a key member of the Maritime Transport Senior Leadership team, you will foster a positive team culture and participate in all commercial sign-offs with senior management. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining a commercial focus that is seamlessly integrated into our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and seek improvements to the Maritime Transport consolidated accounts and financial reports in line with all Group deadlines.
  • Work with the Maritime Transport senior management teams as key stakeholders to develop KPIs and provide regular feedback and insight to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Key liaison to Product Line Directors (PLD) for all financial targets and optimisation of cash flow.
  • Work with the PLDs and regional teams to improve and verify budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor and control working capital requirements.
  • Refine the existing product lines management systems.
  • Support the regional finance leads with their compilation of monthly accounts.
  • Identify and recommend potential operational efficiencies and improvements to procedures.
  • Oversight and support to the PL Finance Managers in preparation of Statutory Accounts.
  • Escalation point for external auditors ensuring audits run smoothly
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate internal controls, adherence to internal audit recommendations and keeping financial reporting documents documentation
  • Identify, develop and implement resourcing planning, talent management and succession planning in line with the current and future needs of the business and product lines.
  • Completion of other regular ad hoc corporate requirements
    The Divisional FD will hold additional Tankships accountabilities as follows:
  • Key liaison to the Tankships SLT for all financial targets and optimisation of cash flow
  • Work with the Tankships senior management teams as key stakeholders to develop KPIs and provide regular feedback and insight to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with Group Treasury to ensure optimal vessel financing is secured
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Financial Experience
  • Considerable experience in financial reporting, modelling and consolidation across global operations
  • Change implementation experience including entity consolidations, winding-up and company mergers.
  • Experience of ERP systems; preferably including implementation and integration
  • Understanding and knowledge of enhancing control environments to FTSE-250 standards
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with demonstrated understanding and application of current accounting standards
  • Understanding of ship financing
Communication Skills
  • Clarity in conveying complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating effectively with team members, senior management teams, executives and third parties such as Auditors.
  • Persuasiveness: Ability to present complex financial findings to senior management with clarity and provide recommendations convincingly.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Experienced leader who is able to lead the Maritime Transport finance teams effectively, as well as working collaboratively with other functional teams.
  • Mentorship: Supporting the development of less experienced team members.
  • Strategic Thinking: Aligning financial strategies with organizational goals.
