Job summary

Charles Hurst Belfast is seeking a Divisional Assistant Accountant to support financial performance across our division and associated dealerships. You will assist the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager, helping ensure accurate daily transactions and a smooth month-end close.

You'll analyse dealership performance, take ownership of allocated dealerships, and work in a commercially focused role within a prestigious automotive retailer.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of core accounting disciplines.
• Proven performance within a commercial finance environment.
• An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or working towards one is advantageous but not essential.
• Expert proficiency in MS Excel and strong working knowledge of the motor industry and Dealer Management Systems.
• A consistent demonstration of Lookers values.
• A forward-thinking, proactive approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager to ensure smooth daily financial operations.
• Take ownership of allocated Charles Hurst dealerships within the division.
• Analyse dealership performance and ensure accuracy and integrity across all transactional accounting.
• Contribute to the month-end close process and financial reporting.

Divisional Assistant Accountant – Charles Hurst

Location: Charles Hurst Belfast Boucher Road

Salary: £27,500 - £40,000 basic salary DOE

Hours: 37.5 (Monday-Friday 8:30pm-5pm)

We’re looking for a commercially focused Divisional Assistant Accountant to support financial performance across our Charles Hurst division and associated dealerships.

As a Division Assistant Accountant, you’ll provide essential support to the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager, ensuring the smooth running of daily financial operations. You’ll analyse dealership performance, maintain accuracy and integrity across all transactional accounting, and play a key role in the month‑end close. You’ll take ownership of allocated Charles Hurst dealerships within the division.
