Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, part of Element Solutions Inc., seeks an experienced Operations Supervisor for our Ashby site. You will lead safety-focused, efficient distribution activities and coach teams to meet quality, service and productivity goals.

You will develop staff, manage shift coverage, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring governance and compliance across operations. This role offers a competitive package and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4 in Maths & English or equivalent, or proven experience.
• Excellent knowledge of operational functions in a Distribution/Production environment of all MHE equipment and trucks.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience within manufacturing, production or a similar operational environment.
• Strong people management, coaching and team leadership skills.
• Good understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality policies requirements within manufacturing.
• Experience within the chemical, process manufacturing or another regulated industry is highly desirable.
• Qualification in team leadership and lean six sigma (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure operational activities are conducted in line with SOPs, work instructions and process controls.
• Maintain audit readiness and support internal, customer and regulatory audits.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, customer complaints and operational issues, implementing corrective actions.
• Supervise, motivate and develop operational teams to deliver high performance and accountability.
• Plan, allocate and coordinate daily operational activities to achieve safety, quality, service and productivity targets.
• Monitor performance, analyse KPIs and take action to address issues and drive improvements.
• Manage staffing levels, attendance, holidays and shift coverage to meet requirements.
• Conduct team briefings, coaching and performance reviews to build capability and compliance.
• Manage employee relations matters in line with company policies.
• Ensure onboarding, training and skills development and maintain training records.
• Maintain governance of operational documentation including SOPs and risk assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement through structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Ensure accurate use of systems and reliable reporting and data integrity.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to support objectives.
