Job summary

WPS in Minworth, Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Disrepair & Litigation Supervisor to own cases from notification through resolution, coordinating with clients, residents, DLO and contractors to deliver safe, compliant repairs and property reinstatement programmes.

You will manage occupied homes and transition properties, drive performance, attend client meetings, monitor budgets and resources, and ensure high standards of customer service. A proactive, organised approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience within social housing repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience supervising responsive repairs, planned works, disrepair projects, or property reinstatement programmes.
  • Strong understanding of repairs processes, contractor management, and quality assurance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and SSSTS qualification are essential.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of disrepair and litigation cases, managing the process from inception through to completion and sign-off.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor all associated repair and remedial works, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, KPIs, and service level agreements.
  • Manage and supervise both the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) and external contractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and progress reviews to ensure compliance with company procedures and client expectations.
  • Work closely with clients, legal teams, surveyors, and operational teams to provide updates, reports, and evidence relating to ongoing cases.
  • Monitor programme performance, budgets, material costs, and resource allocation to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are met and maintained across all sites.
  • Attend client meetings and performance reviews, representing the business professionally and proactively resolving issues.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through effective communication and a resident-focused approach.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practice across service delivery.

Disrepair & Litigation Supervisor - Birmingham (Minworth)

We are looking for an experienced Disrepair & Litigation Supervisor to join our team based in Minworth, Birmingham, supporting the delivery of high-quality repairs, disrepair works, and property reinstatement programmes across our social housing contracts.

This is a key operational role where you will take ownership of disrepair and litigation cases from initial notification through to successful resolution. Working closely with internal teams, legal representatives, clients, residents, our Direct Labour Organisation (DLO), and specialist contractors, you will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest standards.

The role will involve managing works within occupied homes as well as properties undergoing transition and recovery, requiring a proactive and organised approach to programme delivery, stakeholder management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

What You'll Need
Essential
  • Proven experience within social housing repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience supervising responsive repairs, planned works, disrepair projects, or property reinstatement programmes.
  • Strong understanding of repairs processes, contractor management, and quality assurance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • SSSTS qualification (minimum requirement).
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within demanding timescales.
Desirable
  • Previous experience managing housing disrepair and litigation cases.
  • Trade background with a strong technical understanding of residential maintenance and refurbishment works.
  • NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade discipline.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, disrepair protocols, and social housing compliance requirements.
  • SMSTS qualification.
