Job summary

WPS is seeking a Disrepair Manager to lead end-to-end disrepair programmes for a local authority. The role focuses on delivering works to time, budget and quality while coordinating with the council, contractors and stakeholders.

You will drive improvements, ensure compliance and report progress to clients. The position requires experience in disrepair or housing maintenance management, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – mandatory.
• Full UK Driving Licence – required.
• Experience in disrepair or housing maintenance management.
• Strong knowledge of housing compliance & regulations.
• Confident managing contractors & stakeholders.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end disrepair programmes within SLAs.
• Act as the main liaison between council, contractors & stakeholders.
• Review claims and accurately scope works from survey reports.
• Manage contractors and ensure on-time, safe delivery to quality standards.
• Drive KPIs including turnaround times, first-time fix & customer satisfaction.
• Oversee pre/post inspections to ensure compliance and sign-off standards.
• Support legal processes including pre-action protocols & joint inspections.
• Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation, CDM, and council policies.
• Manage budgets and maintain cost-efficient delivery.
• Maintain clear documentation and provide regular client reports.
• Engage residents, manage expectations and resolve complaints.
• Identify improvements to reduce repeat defects and future claims.

About the Role
