New Openings for Display Assembly Technician in Stafford, Virginia. We have immediate openings available for in-store merchandise assembly technicians in Stafford, Virginia. We are currently looking for candidates that can start within the next week.

Responsibilities

1. Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
2. Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process
3. Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components
4. Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications
5. Align material and put together parts to build more complex units
6. Check output to ensure highest quality
7. Maintain merchandise in good condition
8. Keep records of production quantities and time
9. Report on issues, malfunction, or defective parts
10. Check company toolbox application for assembly quantities and timeframes
11. Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately

Skills

1. Proven experience as assembler
2. Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.
3. Good understanding of quality control principles
4. Good communication skills (verbal and written)
5. Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
6. Advanced knowledge of hand and power tools
7. Heavy lifting is required (up to 80lbs repeatedly and daily)
8. Must be able to stand, squat, and bend over for long periods of time
9. Must be mechanically inclined and meet productivity standards
10. Able to solve unforeseen challenges while assembling various consumer products
11. Must be self-motivated, energetic, and work well alone

Work Requirements

1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. Must have reliable transportation
3. Must have a working mobile phone
4. Must have access to the internet
5. Must be available to be in the store at 9a, M-F
6. Must have valid identification
7. Flexible availability (weekends as needed)

Tool Requirements

1. Impact drill (at least 2 batteries)
2. Assorted bits and adapters for drill
3. Basic hand tools – screwdriver, wrench, sockets, box cutter
4. Smartphone or Smart Device with WIFI or Mobile internet

This is an independent contractor position. Compensation is paid by the finished piece – in which each assembler gets paid for each item they build. The faster and more accurately you work, the more money you make. NOTE: Upon hire you will be a W-4/I-9, 1099 independent contractor.

The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. This position requires you to be able to drive between store locations. You must be willing and able to travel to various customer sites.
